We can paraphrase the all-encompassing concept of Kabbalah, of light and darkness (Kedushah – the holy realms, and kelipah the dark forces) as that which is connected or disconnected – you see, having the privileged to work on translating Kesser Shem Tov (the Baal Shem Tov’s extraordinary teachings – a master of the hidden realms) I just translated, “Whoever wishes to connect to the Divine should study Torah, for within the wisdom of the Torah is its thinker.” This made me realize that God is connected to some realms and “disconnected” (for in essence, all must have some sort of Divine life force, but it is handed to the forces of evil, as long as it serves some kind of alterioir motive – for the forces of evil like the thorns on the rose, help tear at and release the scent)
