We can be in one of four states – either the deluded state, that as “I love everyone, hence everyone loves me, we’re all one big happy family” – we can be in the deluded state “because I fear, hold resentment against people (which happens when we are abused so a. the heart sees all similar people as potential (like if you were bitten by a dog, you become afraid of all dogs) enemies”, and we also carry a resentment that no-one saved us) hence we subconsciously know that we hate others, and as we think others think about us as we think about them, hence we imagine that they hate us – hence in turn we hate them! (this is like the Arab teaching: I against my brother, my brother and I against my cousin, my cousin and I against the world! and many many societies – perhaps the russian as well, have this kind of “one-upmanship.”) or we can simply be depressed (in this scenario we don’t love ourselves, hence we don’t love anyone, but likewise we hold no fear, anger, bitterness) and finally we can be in the ultimate state
