We begin life loving, for by nature, when we are secure, we have desires; we often then become concerned with right and wrong; this is the “justice stage,” but it’s a very sic stage indeed – for what we don’t realize is, that though we seek naturally for things to be just, there is a fundamental difference between compassion and justice – when someone seeks justice, as the saying implies, they have personally been hurt – when we are angry at others for not behaving justly, it is exclusively jealousy of their lack of fear of criticism, versus our learned fear; and the need to demean them, comes only from our own jealousy – think about who really was a proponent of justice – ostensibly Arafat was, for the oppressed Palestinians; in reality, when he himself was given rulership over them, not only did they live far worse than under the Israelis, not only were they abused wantonly, but quite simply, he continued murdering Jews; Hitler also was ostensibly for Germany, but when he was given rulership of Germany – not only were Germans far worse off, but their entire Germany was turned into a killing machine; for ultimately, what we fail to perceive, for it is our own delusional ego involved, is: none of us really care enough about justice to go on a crusade for it – the only reason people go on crusades, as in the crusaders, is the ego that “the other person has something I don’t!” gives rise to ratiocinations, justifying the crusade – so in simple words, never think you are right! – my grandfather had a beautiful relationship with my grandmother and one of the things they made up before they got married, is: whoever believes they are right in an argument should be the first to apologize – we see this often in marriage: who cares whose right?! – whenever we are on a crusade, it’s never about justice, for the just thing is actually to have peace and love; it’s only about “my ego dominating the playing field,” and the actual idea / just cause, is in reality, only the weapon of choice – so love is obviously naïve, for not all people can be trusted; hate/ righteous indignation is obviously evil – but there is a third emotion called compassion – for it is not about how much something will make me feel good, nor about preventing my ego from feeling bad / justice – rather, about my purpose in life!
