We are fundamentally a biological machine that has three components: we have idealistic ideals, we have a self-centered heart which drives us toward addiction to anything we find gratifies us and conversely, a need to protect ourselves from pain/shame which ironically actually drives us towards acquiescence – this is why our sages said and Meir (one of the greatest sages and the main author of the mishnah) "women (as their brains are in a sense much more realistic hence have much more anxiety as studies show) are acquiescers" – this is like the Helsinki syndrome where people begin to actually become the "friend" of the rapist, terrorist etc. siding with them instead of with the people coming to save them for as their fear causes them to acquiesce they subconsciously think by acquiescing they will be safe – the third is a insane ego
