We are back, as the Rebbe would call this time “And Jacob went on his way!” – we celebrated a month of festivals, from the somber to the sublime, from the morose to the ecstatic, we sat enveloped in God’s love, we faced the satan and won – but all that was basic training

Here is a thought – over Yom Tov (the festivals) I learnt something truly profound – we all know that life is a series – infinite – of highs and returns – Moments of spiritual yearning, ecstasy, bliss, and the return to our mundane world, to be a light, a star, a torch illuminating other people – however the actual mechanism to this was never properly revealed (to me,) for what causes our moment of inspiration and moment of sober application? !What causes these highs and returns?! – The answer, imagine two hands palm to palm, and they are making a waving motion up and down – Is it the right hand effecting the left? or vise-versa? – in truth, as you wish to wave to the right, the left hand applies a slight pressure and as you wish to wave to the left, the right hand will – simalerly behind our experiences is God.
