We are all multiple layers, we have opinions – this in fact is what makes a human being – obviously if someone existed and had no opinions they wouldn’t be a human – This also distinguishes us from an animal – an animal doesn’t think, it feels; whereas a human is always observing, as our sages teach, just as our faces are individuated, so to our opinions – However, our opinions can come from one of two places, either they are internal or external – when they are internal, they can come from one of two places, whether they are a result of an experience, so say God-forbid a black man stabbed me which would create a fear of black men, I would most likely have a negative opinion of black men – opinions can also result from thinking about something and arriving at a conclusion – these, as we see from science are tenuous at best – for example, for thousands of years people – the smartest people, like Aristotle, wrote their observations, which turns out they are all wrong (for scientifically now we know that everything is simply a miracle) Then there are external opinions, these are also in two categories, the first is highly stupid and usually bad and the second and the most rare is the truth, which in my search for it, only comes from Chassidus, the mysticism revealed by the Baal Shem Tov and synthesized by the Rebbe and even then, one must study all of it and create from the whole a picture, for as it states about Torah, it is scant in one place though elaborate in the other.
