We all shall traverse the three stages – Illusions, Delusions, Reality (for we are born into an illusion – as our needs are provided for – we extrapolate this wonderful “world” onto the macro.) Sooner or later, someone who is jealous of our serenity shall bully us – shattering the illusion. Then comes the delusion, namely, “people are bad,” the reason we go into this delusion is a. it affords us security, which is the primary desire (for example, if I interact with dogs and enjoy the interaction, I will love dogs; however, if I interact with dogs and a dog maliciously bites me – not once, but every time I come to interact! – I will obviously develop a fear. Now this fear translates in the brain as a need to protect oneself from dogs – now the brain also has another program – the ego – the need to be right – so it will come up (to the conscious self) with the idea, that dogs are bad, which means, I am right.) Last but not least, is reality, sometimes called post-traumatic-stress-growth – the ability to discern, to understand: In fact, we are all alike! It’s only circumstances cause some people, well to be in post traumatic stress (you see, soldiers are far from tuff – all people desire safety, which is why soldiers in combat will often develop post-traumatic-stress as the mind has now begun to believe “the world” is unsafe.) Hence the first step toward growth is obviously security – one can never expect someone to unlearn stress (as Sherri Mandel, who son was brutally murdered by Arabs said “You cannot be who you were (before trauma) But you can be something new!”) Once security sets in, then and only then, can we begin to allow reality, namely “we shan’t be living, neither in illusion nor delusion, rather, in peaceful, productive growth and dedicated idealism!”
