We all have according to Chassidus and psychology the ability to be the greatest selfless or the most heinous selfish monster – and only through making a commitment to only be selfless, can you ensure that you will be the former and never the latter; for do you really think you are any different from all the saints and monsters who have come before you?! for they too were faced with the circumstances that some chose wisely and others their devil (the Yetzer Hara) led them into personal, and often communal, and sometime even global destruction!
