Understanding well just about everything

By zevi770 · January 17, 2014

I’ve always had the belief – if I may be so humble to compare the desire and premise to – as Einstein believed, that everything boils down to great simplistic notions

In fact, the Rambam teaches, that in the messianic era – which the Rebbe teaches – we have begun, we will know previously concealed things!

Well nothing has been more concealed, as our sages themselves declare, that the very reason for our exile is a concealed sin, namely the sin of baseless hate

But how can that which is known – be unknown?

Ah’ this is of course the realm of psychology, understanding how often what we think, is not what we have chosen, rather what we desire to think!

As Chassidus states empirically, our desires change our opinions!

So if we understand the core effect of desire, we can easily learn to discern between the varying conflicting opinions (based on desires) and it, well does clarify just about everything.

Desire number 1 is love, when people love (including when they love themselves) they don’t see evil in others (even if they see something wrong, it will be like a doctor, who sees an ailment, something that needs to be cured; but not God-forbid to kill the person because of the ailment.)

Desire number 2 is fear – when we God-forbid are afraid, all we see, are those things that can possibly be dangerous; for example say you are a soldier in battlefield, every rustling of every leaf will immediately concentrate your attention, focusing you, on what could possibly be a threat to your very survival.

But the real hidden desire, that which was unknown, till Chassidus / Jewish mysticism (as confirmed by modern psychology) revealed – is jealousy.

For when we are jealous of another, it produces the belief that the other is evil – for jealousy causes us to want to God-forbid annihilate that which the other has, which we are jealous over!

One of the most famous cases of jealousy and its amazing resolution of course is the case of King Solomon, who two women were brought to him, one claiming that the other stole her child, as they had both given birth, but one baby died and the other stole the child – so King Solomon ordered a long sword to be brought in and said to cut the baby in half, giving half to each; whereupon, one woman said “it’s o.k., let her keep the child” and King Solomon said “she is the mother!”

In other words, King Solomon understood, that obviously one woman had stolen the child, but the cause of this theft was a destructive, not constructive reason, it was to take away from the other, that which she had, hence reducing that horrible jealous feeling!

Likewise, for example, in Israel; it is not Israel that the Arabs want; for thousands of years it was a barren wasteland and never did the Arabs once try to get Israel as their own – rather the Arabs, as history has long shown, are jealous of Jews – it is their desire to destroy; and here is the resolution to the great perplexing question “what is the desire of antisemites?” for as Einstein writes “the Germans couldn’t be against Jews as a race, for Jews come from every race” – and it is – that Jews in general have happiness; now the reason they have happiness, as Einstein, and as confirmed in Jewish mysticism etc. writes, that they have good hearts, so quite simply the heart filled with kindness is the happy heart.
