Understanding the messianic era which has begun

By zevi770 · January 31, 2012

Yesterday I find a treasure

Yep, a real diamond

You see the Rebbe has told us that Moshiach has come, which obviously he hasn’t, for we are not in Israel, nor in the Beis Hamikdosh nor has all the world become peaceful

So if the Rebbe says something, the question is never on the Rebbe who knew all of Torah, was a prophet etc. rather the question is, what does he mean?

After years of contemplating this I came to the conclusion that it means that the soul of Moshiach, whom the Baal Shem Tov ascended to, to discover when he would come, and he replied “when your wellsprings spread out,” entered the Rebbe around the time of the Rebbe saying this.

In the Yeshivah in Johannesburg one of the boys reading the class on Moshiach read that the Ari Zal actually says this.

You see in every generation there is a potential Moshiach someone who has the qualifications, usually the leader of the generation, the Rebbe of the era, to be Moshiach, but the Ari Zal says, what will happen is, that the soul of Moshiach will enter him and then he will know that he is the Moshiach

This simple understanding changes our questions to answers

The first obvious question is that the Rebbe vigorously denied he was the Moshiach for forty years than he stopped denying it

The second question is, how can Moshiach come if the manifestations of Moshiach haven’t manifested

But then we have a new question

So what practical relevance does this have to my life

For all is a massage – especially something that happens to and via a Rebbe the leader, as Rashi teaches us that the leader is everyone!

So the answer may be that the Rebbes main push was that each of us should live as if Moshiach is here

The very understanding that Moshiach is here (though not fully revealed yet) changes our aspirations, our perception, our beliefs, for it takes an intangible reality and makes it tangible.
