Understanding reality

 

If we did not develop a notion that we are the center of the world – i.e. an ego – we wouldn’t seek to fulfill our own wishes

If we did not realize, we are not the center of the world, we become spoiled, incapable of accepting reality

If we don’t consciously, when we are adults and capable of discerning, choose to relegate our desires – for essentially our ego hasn’t disappeared, only been mollified and will reassert its insanity given the opportunity, hence the saying “power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely” – and instead humbly submit exclusivity to God’s will, well, we are just plain dumb
