Understanding modern reality

In order to understand anything one must look at it from its purpose
The truth is, our modern reality is best described not by sociologists studying human predilections but by Jewish mysticism studying the super cause
The Previous Rebbe said that in the olden days (not too far back) life was like a train going between two cities – north or south (I take this to mean, people chose either to be religious or secular but the rigidity of the society kept everyone toeing a basic line)
As the Moshiach comes which is the idea of a personal relationship with God (not a general acquiescence to authority) it is like a train entering a city in which there are multiple destinations
