Ultimately true freedom of choice means not that G-d (like angels get) gives us a desire – nor that G-d leaves us bereft of knowledge – rather as the world we exist in – both internal compulsion for darkness and external opportunity for it resides, simultaneously with truth and the internal desire for it – and ultimately G-d allows us to choose light over darkness; when we have had our fill of stupidity, instinctual desires; which is why it is precisely in our modern era, where never before, have more indulged nearly as much, that never before have more turned to truth!
