Ultimately identity is a pride in oneself which can come about from three possibilities the first is an illusion – the child receives their needs and assumes that this was their power that provided them – the second is connected to someone else that we identify with and makes us feel powerful, such as our father or country or religious leader – the third is connected to the truth, namely I was chosen by G-d!
