Ultimately according to Jewish mysticism we have to actually split our personality – for if we unconditionally accept all of ourselves – it is like the kid playing in the mud and doesn’t want to change – but if we recognize that there is a Divine soul – spirit, compassion, truth in us – as well as a narcissistic animal (instinctive and capable of destructiveness (through anger vengeance and jealousy) we are in the ideal state.
