True freedom

In an unbelievable Passover – the festival of freedom – general letter to all Jews – the Rebbe advises us how to have real freedom!
Amazingly it is the synthesis of truth.
You see, as we had occasion to mention, freedom is not aimlessnesses – the western idea of freedom, namely, “someone will not tell me what to do!” not only doesn’t make me feel free, it makes me feel meaningless, as empirically seen.
However, if you give a singer a microphone and a stage, you free his desire, and when you give a Jew (or any good person) the ability to do what’s right, what’s loving, you free his soul!
So true freedom exists when we do the following: firstly, as the stated goal of leaving Egypt was to serve God, when we subjugate our desires to the service of God, we free ourselves from our foolish desires.
Secondly, we must realize, though there is a Divine ordinance of what to do, the fundamental ambition of this, is one and one ideal – peace – unity, love!
