Chapter 5

 

In this chapter the Alter Rebbe describes (following last chapter’s introduction) the idea of how the Divine energy unifies within us.

 

This is done both through Torah study and through Mitzvos.

 

In fact, when we get to heaven, our clothing are the mitzvos we did on earth, for each mitzvah brings the Divine light to clothe a specific part of us (so Teffilin the hand, speech of Torah or Prayer or a Mitzvah, a general aura etc.)

 

Specifically though, Torah study becomes not only clothing but also “food” (if the Torah is studied for the sake of this union / unity /connection.)

 

For the unity of your mind and the Divine is deeper than say the unity of putting on Teffilin – for when a person learns something, that thing becomes “ingested” into your psyche – and as this thing (as mentioned in last chapter) Is Divine energy, there is an internal Divine wavelength.
