Today is both the birthday and liberation of the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe

What can we learn from his life?
Everything!
One of the most significant perspectives among the many of the Rebbe is the following:
The Rebbe saw his opportunity to have a connection to the previous Rebbe who was his master, teacher, guide, as relating to a benefit for the Jewish people.
In other words we are all takers.
But in truth we are givers.
Our instinct is “how does this benefit me?”
But our truth, our soul, our Divine purpose is “how does this benefit another?”
The previous Rebbe lived a life with complete sacrifice to benefit the Jewish people.
He likewise inspired his Chassidim, personal students to do the same.
I am proud to say I have three great-grandparents murdered by the communists for their stand in keeping Judaism alive in Russia.
And from the one surviving great-grandmother from Russia, as the Rebbe once told her “half of Chabad comes from you” (in fact 15% of my class in Ohalie Torah were her descendants.)
The Rebbe in essence contained his outlook.
