Today is an interesting day in Jewish history because in the year 335 BCE Jerusalem walls were rebuilt and in the year 1516 the despicable Christian culture of placing Jews in ghetto walls, mainly to humiliate them began

But why would two seemingly opposing ends of the spectrum, building / celebrating a wall, and a wall of humiliation come together
Perhaps the following is the clue
A wall is a mark of distinction
Distinction can be both a mark of honor or it can be a mark of shame
To wear a distinctive mark such as a Yarmulkah and Tzitzis, to dress Tznuis (the modest attire of Orthodox Jewish women) is a distinction of pride, for it shows we have the ability to be different for a good cause, but to label another as distinctive, be it based on race, color, religion, creed, that is ultimately the biggest act both of violence, hence of shameful inhumanity
