The Rebbe Rashab explains, words are like pipes, they channel energy; effectively, there are three types of energies, selfless; selfish, which includes love, as long as it serves MY feelings of compassion, in other words, though it has selflessness in it, it is limited to being MY desire; and evil, Hate!
