Three souls – one man

By zevi770 · April 11, 2013

If we have three souls, we can understand ourselves simply by understanding the very essence of each soul and how their essences battle one another – you see, the essence of every soul is the desire to be happy, which is a state of feeling good which can also be called pleasure/taanug and as we desire to be happy we corollarily desire not be sad, which is a state of feeling bad /ratzon, to not desire pain – the big question of course is, what makes us happy? well here’s where it get’s interesting (like the Chinese Curse “may you live in interesting times!”) you see, our Godly soul is good, this is when we get happy over good things, such as love, giving charity, sensitivity and its sadness would be the reverse; if we saw evil, insensitivity, pain in others, God-forbid; now the animal soul is exactly opposite, the Godly soul; you see, its happiness comes from four elements that provide its joy, fire is actually supremacy over others, which is why people like to be famous, kings and queens desire to be in charge – we all got it, though it’s a ugly gene – water comes from instinctual pleasure, listening to good music, good food, good instinctual pleasure, and its reverse is not feeling personal pain or shame (not to be lowered etc. etc.) then to stir the pot a bit more, we have a rational soul and its pleasure is consistency; when things add up, so we naturally have a desire for our two souls to get a long; but in the end of the day, the easiest way for this to happen, for ultimately the animal soul just wants to be happy, is to truly, utterly, compassionately, and without a shred of doubt convince yourself, that what makes you really happy (not a transient feeling that dissipates as soon as you taste it) is your Godly souls system!
