Three perceptions of reality, all perceptions of reality fall into

 

 

1. Might is right – in other words, reality is based on the balance of power – power entitles one to another’s objects, which is how humanity started, and in lawless countries – particularly Arab and other tribal based societies, this is how it still works
2. Might is wrong – this is our modern concept of democracy – namely, every person must be given the freedom to do what they want, as long as it’s consensual
3. The truth – the Torah’s view – we a. must be humble by recognizing that what we have is a gift from a loving creator and b. we must take responsibility and be compassionate and alleviate the suffering of one another!
