There is no teaching that can even begin to compared to this (from Chassidus of-course) We all have multiple emotional possibilities – it is obvious, as you can see empirically from the blank face of a baby, that we are born with the possibility for various emotions to be evoked – In fact, this now is seen as both a biological and psychological fact, that we are all pretty much predisposed to any kind of ailment or mental ailment; it is only a question of the stimulus (Though we are also varied in our predispositions, as well as defense, resilience, immunization to others) The long short of the story is, that our consciousness is a subject of time – hence there are multiple realities that operate within us simultaneously – The person who is angry is also a person who has love, but at this moment that emotion takes the back-seat – The person who is happy is also a person who may have anger, but at this time that emotion takes the back-seat – And the ultimate goal is to return to the baby state – to accept, that if all of human history is anything to go by, we are basically really bad at choosing our emotions!! Hence if we allow ourselves the luxury of allowing others to provoke our emotions, one day we shall be happy, another angry etc. etc. – How about instead, join the exclusive -though-no-membership-fee- club, of those who realize and act upon the realization, that the only current reality I should indulge in, is the one the Creator of me and all emotions, deems good.
