There is a light which is dark (and conversely a darkness, appearing as light)

This is perhaps the most fundamental concept from Kabbalah, though it’s a bit complex.
God is not light, God is dark.
Light represents energy – energy represents a specific type of energy, so you have say light – you have heat – you have desire – amongst desires: you have love, fear/self-preservation, anger, hate (often caused by jealousy) the ego’s desire for recognition etc. etc.
I don’t know of a single religion that doesn’t categorize God as some kind of desire, most commonly, love.
But to say God is love, is to define the indefinable, to limit the unlimited, to contain the uncontainable, to take infinite ability and place it into a finite space.
So let’s analyze this concept of darkness which is light and light which is darkness.
You see, a humble person closests mirrors God; for he isn’t a big-shot, he doesn’t exist in any state.
Whereas, any person who has defined their path, well, is defined by their definition.
Without saying I am right, but using some apparent generalizations, for the sake of this concept:
Christians are defined by their notion of God – perhaps that God wishes for them to believe in Jesus and be good.
Jews (usually) are defined by their notion of God – perhaps that God has punished them for being bad, and when they are good, will bring the messiah.
Muslims are defined by their notion of God – which as I am no expert, cannot speak; but let’s say (certainly from the radical side, we see this) a desire to create sharia law – the international caliphate.
These notions are so real, that they completely define the behavior of the participants.
In other words, there is a premise of who God is, hence what he wants.
Let’s take this down to a very human level – when I am in the state of love, I seek the benefit of whom I love and am oblivious to anything that prevents that seeking, hence love is blind.
Conversely, if God-forbid in the state of hate, I seek the destruction of whom I hate and I am blind to any qualities (which is why bullying, antisemitism, terrorism, is so evil.)
When in fear, I am simply lacking any moral thoughts – for example, if feeling pressurized, stressed out, a simple example, say a lion chasing you…
Now nature abhors a vacuum – hence people abhor the state of depression – feeling lifeless, listless, lethargic; and as we see empirically, are willing to fill themselves practically with any energy that comes their way – this is why radicals are so dangerous, for they offer an evil energy of hate – but being a form of energy, people buy into it.
Now let’s go back to God – again, to say he is this or that, is to also create the limitations, the blindness of love, or hate; certainly, he cannot fear nothing, nor be jealous of anyone.
Hence God is darkness, a simple humble “person” who is light: does good
