Inspiration for life

There are only five possibilities in life. The first is that we are simply — as quasi-science likes to say — Darwinian animals, which of course is a poor excuse for behaving like one.The second is that there is right and wrong — and of course, so many cultures and religions, based on the one true religion of G-d, help us to determine right from wrong. There is great truth in that. But just “behaving” is not the intention of G-d. He did not create a world merely so we should behave. He created a world much as parents hope that their children will grow — that they should create families, have children, that there should be love, that there should be peace. And in order to bring this about, a great story — a history, a destiny, an epic drama — unfolded. As our Sages teach, the first 2,000 years were the years of creation and chaos. The next 2,000 years are the years of Torah — when the truths of G-d, given through Moses and transmitted through the Jewish people, were copied, to a greater or lesser extent, by much of the civilized world, allowing a basic moral structure to form. But beneath all these truths and the structure they created was also the original intention: that a world awed by scientific and technological advancement — coupled with inherent drives of ego and promiscuity, a desire for lack of boundaries — would eventually overthrow the rigidities of various religious orders. Through this freedom — and through the aimlessness, meaninglessness, purposelessness, and existential angst such a lifestyle produces — the deeper soul within the human mind would begin to seek. And in that quest, a new light — the Infinite One — would be revealed. Then these two flames would dance — primarily intellectually, emotionally, spiritually — guiding each individual toward greater wisdom, truth, and goodness. And then, amidst this individual dance, there would be a great melody: as many instruments playing together create symphonic truth. It will culminate very soon in the arrival of the Rebbe, Moshiach, and the resurrection of all who have passed — those who were good, of course — the elimination of terrorism and evil, and a true introduction of the ideals of G-d. But this time, not to people who need to be told to behave, but to a nation — to a world — only too happy to enter ever-greater enlightenment!🧡
