There are no escape hatches, as the Rebbe often emphasized, only if you try hard can you succeed in the eternal struggle again the Yetzer Hara, for if we do not try, the Yetzer Hara leaves us alone; for we aren’t going to cause any light to be spread in any event; but if we do try to do good – and ironically, evil easily succeeds, though it also easily fades from the scene, never to be remembered – then the Yetzer Hara will always battle one who is truly shining light, so ultimately it is a good sign!
