There are in truth only (though there are as the Baal Shem Tov teaches intermediary) energies in this world, the first is the energy of God: compassion, sensitivity, kindness and truth; the flipside (as God created the world of evil to mirror the world of truth in the opposite direction) is the energy of hate, of malice, hence abuse and in between is man’s nature – a composite of both
