The Zohar teaches us, three organs can control us, our liver, our heart, and our mind – to be sane we need to control, not be controlled (by) all three:

Liver represents ego, when we have an ego, which we all do, we get incensed if someone unfortunately offends us and then we become obsessed with revenge, which robs us of our ability to be happy!
To overcome the ego we need to realize that who we think we are is not true, its simply the self image we produced in infancy – in truth we are souls, a soul is God’s light, as the verse says, the soul of man is God’s candle!
Heart is emotions, there are two primary emotions: love and fear!
To overcome fear we need to trust that God is good!
To love, we need to identify with our fellow Jews, for if we are all God’s light, and there is but one God, hence, we are in essence truly one soul, though inhabiting many bodies!
But perhaps hardest and most important, we need to gain control over our mind, the easiest way to gain control on our minds is to order ourselves around!
Our mind is like a kid driving a car, random bursts of energy in random directions, but by ordering our minds, by CHOOSING our thoughts, we become the driver!!! Sent via my BlackBerry from Vodacom – let your email find you!
