The truth is, what did the Alter Rebbe mean when he said, the Moshiach that is coming no one is waiting for and the Moshiach everyone is waiting for, is not coming.

Wow – that’s the Alter Rebbe! the greatest master of Kabbalah and Jewish law – what it means is as follows.

Everything has both a body and soul.

Obviously Moshiach is not its body but its soul.

For example, if you loved someone who God-forbid was in a coma and you never knew them, you would be considered abnormal, for you have no idea who they are.

It is their personality, that you love.

Similarly with Moshiach.

Many are those who love the concept of Moshiach as it represents an end of all suffering and a time of bliss.

But that is only the physical manifestation of the Divine soul, which contains no physical evil.

But the actual spirit of G-d is something the Rebbe tried hard to convey to us.

It is first and foremost a desire to become you –I know it sounds crazy, but such is the nature of love.

But secondly, unlike a human, whom you can at best marry and somehow merge identities with, G-d is not a single identity, he is infinite growth steps.

We would have no more problems if we could only give up our identities for God.

The reason it is so hard to understand G-d, is because we fail to perceive how there can be a being, who infinitely creates new growth for us.
