The truth is, as the Previous Rebbe teaches, light – the Divine consciousness – is not only for the Jewish people; and as the Rebbe emphasizes, in fact, what is most unique about the soon to be messianic era, is the universal, as it states “My house will be called a house of prayer for all people” oneness and light, that the Moshiach will share with everyone – hence, in this context, we clearly understand the Rebbe’s call, that each and every one of us is a lamplighter – “no-one” as it states in Sefer Yetzirah, “seeks pain, and everyone seeks pleasure / happiness!”

It is only when we discern that the Divine consciousness itself is a continual act of love – that as we understand, hence feel loved – that we can in turn makes others feel so as well!
