The True Mechanism To Be Good and Kind – It would seem so obvious yet somehow we are either too open, which allows for selfish and even evil (not taking a stand) or too prude (which doesn’t allow for true love and kindness.) The secret to the balance of goodness and kindness is found in Kabbalah’s Sefiros / Ten Soul Levels. And it fundamentally invokes the proper mix. For the notion of love of-course is good, but when it overwhelms objective reality, then as they say “love is blind.” Similarly the emotion of doing what’s right is good, but when it turns into harshness, it often borders on abuse. So understanding how much of each must be applied, when and how… is fundamental. To begin with we must make a fundamental difference between how we deal with ourselves and how we deal with others. For whereas it is appropriate, in fact from time-to-time necessary to self-discipline and take an objective self-assessment; to another it is never my job to discipline nor judge. Now this doesn’t mean I must ignore good and evil; rather just as to my child the motive behind my educating (at least the proper motive) is only out of love – hence I would never do anything to hurt my child nor his self-esteem, for my ultimate goal is to enhance, benefit and grow.
