The third way

Our sages teach us, when Moshiach comes, we will say to our great grandfather Jacob, Yaakov, “You are our father!”
Hey, what’s wrong with Abraham or Isaac?
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are archetypes, representing three paradigms in serving God.
Abraham was unconditional love.
Isaac was unconditional fear of God and doing the wrong thing.
Yet, both Abraham and Isaac have a flaw in their service of God, represented by their two sons, who took their love and fear, and turning it on its head, used it for evil!
Yishmoel took the aspect of love in an egotistical way, which is why, as we currently see, the more Yishmoel, the Arabs get, instead of it bringing them more gratitude and humility (as it brought Abraham) the negative side of love/joy, is that it expands one’s ego, hence the more one’s ego expands, the less one is tolerant of any other opinion, anyone else’s success; which is why currently, as God predicted in the Bible “they will be messing into everyone’s business, and hence everyone will hate them.”
On the other side of the fence, Eisav, the father of Rome, to a certain extent, western civilization, represented by Rome, took the no messing around approach – Rome was compared to an iron sword, and as predicted accurately in the Bible, they murdered all those who stood in their way – amazingly, all along, believing in the justice of their way! – it is only after the holocaust and two world wars when their self-disgust transformed their iron approach, did they – also amazingly predicted – adopt the way of Jacob, namely, tolerance, democracy, peace and compassion.
However, as always, the truth is never in extremes, it is in blending realties to suite the approach of compassion.
This is the way of Jacob, who only had righteous sons.
And simply, this is an extremely important lesson to us:
For even today, we see the same mistake occurring, those who are extreme in the loving side, which also increases their ego; an example, of liberals who really do mean well, but their egotistical standpoint on their “superiority,” causes them cruelty to those who don’t adhere to their viewpoint.
We see the Islamic intransigence leading to a cult of murder, with over a hundred million people signed up to randomly murder infidels, and as things stand, hundreds of millions more who give their charity to this sick cause.
So let us live in the messianic era, let us say, “Jacob, the way of submitting my emotions to the wisdom of God!” Simply speaking, we all must ask, before we act!
You can go to chabad.org where there is a highly competent team of Rabbis waiting to answer any question you have.
For our emotions so far, though containing good, have also been the source of untold evil!
