The story of life is essentially simple, as Einstein said, “we don’t know the secret but when we do, I am sure it will be both simple and beautiful” – yes Albert you are right – but Kabbalah does teach us the secret – the secret is that life is about unity – and nowhere is this unity more beautiful and simple (though you must understand) then in marriage – it goes like this, a man and a woman are really two halves of one soul – this is a massive subject and we don’t have the time (or patience) to deal with all its details – but to sum it up, the man has more of an innovative brain (most innovators are men) this makes them searchers and seekers (this also applies to the spiritual realm, be it Abraham etc.) however women have in essence a far deeper quality and that is the ability to integrate information – as opposed to a man that may know but not do, a women’s mind convinces her (as her right and left hemisphere, ideas and logic)are connected – practically speaking, biologically hence psychologically God lets women know that it’s their mission to have children – now this is a massive undertaking – personally I believe no man’s brain could cope – I recall when my wife once went away for two weeks – even after leaving food in the fridge and giving my children take outs I still was about to have a serious information overload – but what we men don’t realize as an expert on Oprah said “the problem with men is they come second-hand – from their mothers” – in other words, our issue is that as we see women do this, we think it just happens… – but in truth it is very difficult – hence it is man’s role to ease the woman’s workload – as someone who asked the Rebbe, “is it true that folding the Tallis Motzai Shabbos brings peace in the home?” so he said, “I don’t know but washing the dishes does.”
