The sad truth is, by nature – based on how we operate instinctively- we are not only completely corrupt we are incapable of seeing it – for example, an addict will not only steal (and often worse) to feed his addiction but simply is incapable (until his shame is worse than his desire) of even seeing it – dictators who murdered hundreds of thousands of people, were capable of seeing how others who did so, were evil – but not themselves.
