Love: a desire to unite with whom you love!
Fear: a desire to stay away from that or whom you fear, and if this is an impossibility, fear creates a fear based acquiescence to the desires of whom you fear (say people in a totalitarian regime as they are protecting their lives etc.)
Jealousy / hatred: a desire to eliminate the source of your jealousy hence antisemites, terrorism against the US etc. etc.
