The Rebbe’s view (from the very little I know)

God – God unconditionally loves us! – everything that God does is only a favor! – the world works in a three stage process: God has an intended benefit, whether a materiel, but most often transformational (making us into kinder, better, wiser etc. people) then he does something that gets us to change, which results in the gift bestowed.
Mankind – every person is united from a variety of factors – we are all the creations of the same father/God! – we all are here – though our missions are different, but our mission is the same – to do what God wants of each of us (as we are all unique, hence our missions are uniquely suited for us) we all must continually advance within the realm of goodness and kindness! – every generation has a mission: ours is to bring about the utopian messianic state!
