When we do a Mitzvah on earth, we manifest the Divine in heaven.
In fact whatever goes on in heaven, is based on what we do on Earth.
When we blow the Shofar, which is the first Mitzvah of the Year, all the subsequent Mitzvahs are renewed.
On Rosh Hashana, the sort of contract for the energy that will provide all matter with its existence (as we know energy equals matter) comes from God.
This energy then goes through the head of each month, for that month.
