The Rebbe said clearly Moshiach has come, what did he mean? – for thousands of years we have been waiting for a physical human, endowed with the spirit of God to return all Jews to Israel, rebuild the third holy temple – so firstly, a person needs to be able to delineate, differentiate, categorize and be able to see the wood from the trees.

The primary principle in Jewish mysticism is “it depends what you are talking about,” as our sages first desired to burn King Solomon’s Koheles, as they found a contradictory statement, but then they left the book intact, realizing in one statement he was talking about one type of circumstance; the other, a different.

So when the Rebbe says “Moshiach is here,” he doesn’t mean Moshiach – the past perception of Moshiach, isn’t coming – truly, we must look forward eagerly, daily! and as the Rebbe says, our entire mission in life today is to do more goodness and kindness to bring about that state! – but what he meant was, that in essence, Moshiach is the spirit of God descending into our world!

This spirit has no limitation.

It can coexist in the darkest dungeon, as in the loftiest heights, the saint and the sinner are no closer nor further from it (just as 1 and a billion are equidistant to infinity.)

This spirit has descended; hence the world we see now is one not changing from without – for example, when God took the Jews out of Egypt, as the change was supernaturally imposed, hence it also, like a magic show, wore off forty days after the giving of the Torah, and back to their bad habits, went the Jews.

No, this spirit is one that comes within!

The incredible transformation – global may we add, of countries instead of seeking war, seeking peace, of vast swaths of humanity finding God – and the beauty of this spirit, is in being able to simultaneously deal with all issues.

So while we in the west, thankfully are growing in goodness and kindness, we can see how the savagery of the Arabs, in Africa, and elsewhere, is still the ancient modality.

We are learning to distinguish between white and black hearts, love and hate, openness and zero sum war-like minded people.

But most importantly, this spirit being infinite, will contribute, not only eventually as in the common understanding of Moshiach, to world peace when those nations get the shock of their life and the Moshiach ushers in a supernatural world order; but those people fortunate enough to find God from their own search, will continually progress within the infinity of God.
