The Rebbe once explained that the reason Hashem creates Rebbes was to provide role-models, but how can someone of such an incredible stature be a role model to me!? – apart from the fact that we all imitate others, hence we see empirically that the Jews closest to the Rebbe are those who have the greatest Ahavas-Yisroel and many other positive qualities imbibed from their role model, however, more significantly, the Rebbe considered himself not as a Rebbe, rather as an emissary of the Rebbe preceding him, and of course as God’s emissary – as he never tired to teach the Mishniac dictum, that we are created to serve our Creator! and certainly, we too, can do these two missions!
