The Rebbe gives a great example from the space shuttle – to launch the space shuttle, there are two great rockets. For the gravitational pull, which in the case of the example, is our body’s pull to its desires, is very strong. Ironically, that passion also is what leads us to seek The truth – for the emptiness of foolish passions eventually gets to us. And then there is another smaller rocket – for as we discover the truth, we still are not there yet,   the body is still pushing us, because our discovery was part of our own ego. And finally, there’s 2 little rockets that launch it into outer space – there in the infinite expanse of the weightlessness of getting beyond the ego and selfishness, it is the soul’s convictions – as it states, “when Moshiach comes – metaphorically – the world will be covered with water and the righteous will grow wings,” it will be the wings of the love and fear of G-d, which will be the direction.
