The reason for war

It is not in the nature of man to make war

We are by nature social creatures

In other words, we love love

So there must be a switch

A switch it certainly is!

You see, one of the hallmarks of Jewish mysticism is understanding the multilayer individual

There is a Chassidus teaching: Freud dug in the ground and found worms, had he dug further, he would have found water

In the substratum of ourselves, we can identify five basic identities – the very first, is who we (think hence) are – if I asked you to point to yourself, you would point to your body – ironically, usually to your heart, for we subconsciously associate the house of our emotional desires, which makes up (for desires become thought, speech and actions) our conscious-self

However within the heart are many desires (for we are both social and egotistical, both capable of wisdom and stupidity etc. etc.)

Generally speaking, there are three layers in the heart (from bad to good) the lowest most wretched layer is called ego – ego is the human desire to be superior (it is this desire that motivates (though the same action can be motivated from the higher stratum, but usually are not) sex, the desire for recognition (this is the positive desire, for without those two desires the world couldn’t continue) but conversely, also the desire to lower others when feeling low (jealousy) It is this desire that is the heart of all wars – we see this clearly in the reason behind jihad, for Islam a religion primarily based on the idea of land-grab (Islam started in Arabia and was based on conquest – one hundred years after Mohammed’s death, large parts of the world (known) were under its savage control) hence when Muslims (particularly the salafists/traditionalist, hence very much identify with this goal, as opposed to living a peaceful religious lifestyle) see the west with its power, they are mortally offended ! – for this reason, every Jews and Cristians death (and to the radical groups which number in the many millions, even non-radical Muslim death) is seen as a “knockout-punch” – the same is true in relationships (when a husband or wife is feeling low, that is when they begin to lower their spouse – this even happens from parents to children and vice versa – it’s behind bullying etc. etc.)

The next heart desire is survival / fear – fear as we know, is a debilitating illness, the cause of all illnesses (a recent European 500,000,000 person study, found it to be the cause of all mental disease) for the nature of man (as we will soon see) is really to generate pleasure, but conversely, to not have pain, so only if a person feels secure, does the mind not worry – when the mind is worrying, it distracts the person.

The next is desires – which means loves – love is not necessarily selfless, it is usually selfish (for we see, if someone causes you anxiety or pain, the fact that you loved them yesterday, means not you will not hate them today) love effectively is the pleasurable outcome anticipated (even often when associations (for example to people) becomes more anxious than enjoyable, we will simply turn off our desire (this is effectively a psychopath who still feels pain and pleasure, still has a mind – often very good – but has no association to humans, for they have turned off this specific desire – an example of this would be – imagine if you loved dogs, but suddenly dogs started to bite you – every time you see a dog, it attacks – before long you will stop loving dogs)
