The question of course is this: does God have an ego? – if he does, then his desire is, that we should serve him in a way that would make him feel better about himself – which obviously is both idiotic and reprehensible to think and to believe – so then if God doesn’t have an ego, then the only purpose of our need to adhere to him, is in fact to lower our own!
