The purpose of all purposes

The Rebbe teaches us that in Kabbalah it states that there are reasons behind everything, and behind those reasons are deeper reasons etc. etc.
Chassidus gets to the very core reason of everything.
God desires to dwell below.
What does this mean?
It actually can best be related to the core feeling that every person has to have a home.
Chassidus teaches that this is innate in people, hence the saying of our sages, “a man without a home is not a man” (as he is missing something vital to his soul.)
Now why do we want a home?
The Jewish sages were challenged by Alexander the Great, one of his question was: is it better for man to be an adventurer or a homebody?
He of course was a noted adventurer.
They said home.
Why? he asked.
“The proof is, that all sailors desire to see dry land!”
In other words, the core need a person has, is not adventure, rather safety.
So what do we need in our homes?
First and foremost, safety.
Living in Johannesburg South Africa this is abundantly clear, where people will pay millions for a small home as long as the security (as it is a crime capital around the world) is secure.
We need serenity, tranquility, a “home sweet home.”
So to, it is this sense that God desires we create on planet earth.
