The problem and the single all-encompassing solution

The problem with love, is it enhances one’s sense of entitlement, as we see empirically in marriage, where people genuinely love, they genuinely begin to think they are entitled to the others love (hence the bizarre notion of sometimes when a person is rejected, they God forbid kill their own family, as they believe it is their entitlement.)
Obviously the problem with fear, is that it lacks love.
The solution is the teaching of the Rebbe/Chassidus, we are here to serve – the difference between love and service is simple enough – though the actions may be exactly the same – when I do things out of love, it creates the problem mentioned above – however, when I do things out of obligation, as we don’t like to be obligated, hence it doesn’t allow for the expansion of self.
