The Power Of Infinite Growth – 5 Spiritual Lessons Of The Solar Eclipse

Long ago lived a dreamer – with magical powers.

“I have a dream,” dreamed the dreamer.

“In this dream, a universe filled with people – my own wonderful children – whom seeking truth, will find me.”

So in order to do this, “In the beginning, G-d made heaven and earth.”

Then He made light and darkness.

Well, as the sun moon and stars, were made on the fourth day; this then refers to the infinite part of the Divine, that man can access.

But G-d said “I fear that those who are selfish, will use my infinite light, not for selflessness.”

So “G-d took this light and put it into the Torah.”

This is why our great sages when asked physical questions, such as “Where is my son?” The Baal Shem Tov could open the Holy Zohar (he was one of many – using practically any of our holy writings) and literally see and respond.

For in this infinite light – the time before time, in which the DNA of all is contained, all can be seen.

But of-course the goal is not to leave reality, into nirvana – another form of escape; but to live in a new type of reality.

This is the messianic age.

It is most appropriate that the kissing of the sun and the moon – something which has deep Kabbalistic meaning, is happening now – Particularly on the very day, when in actual fact, the moon has completely been obscured (for Rosh Chodesh, the birth of the new moon, in actual fact (over Jerusalem) occurs at 10:44 Am. on Tuesday.)

You see, the sun not only is light, it refers to the Divine source.

The moon is not only something that shines at night, it is also shining a light not of its own (as we know, it is merely reflecting the solar rays.)

And herein lies the most important lesson in life.

Some think – “I think, therefore I am.”

Long has humanity struggled with the opposing direction of “Being” and “humility” – Is the goal of life “to be” or “to not.”

And how can something that IS, not; (“be not.”)

So the answer is, that ultimately it is like a marriage – as our Jewish sagas taught, “The giving of the Torah was G-d’s engagement – namely, we remained two separate beings – but the coming of the Moshiach, is the marriage”.

Now we all have the greatest quandary in a marriage – which quite simply is the exact same question, “To be, or Not” – “Do I be myself”, or “Do I submerge.”

The answer as everything in Judaism, is always the best of both.

You see, what if you could both, “Be” and “Submerge.”

And here is the important lesson from the sun and moon kissing.

If we live purely submerged within Divine revelation (or in fact, any ideal, certainly our ego etc.) we lack personal identity.

If we only follow our own opinions… well look how far that’s gotten humanity!

The ultimate is a healthy marriage between the Divine Being, and the Human-self.

A healthy relationship, like the Baal Shem Tov explains, is similar to a dance – these days we have lots of dancing stars – as you can see, a dance is when there are moments of separation and moments of bonding.

This is the great secret of intimacy (and those who are always close, become far; which is why G-d advises, a “two week on – two week off rule;” which statistically has been proved to increase, not decrease intimacy.)

The Practical Lessons:

In life you need three identities.
1. You need to know You are YOU – a unique creation endowed with unique abilities, and a unique mission.
2. You need to know, you are nothing relative to the Creator. (think how an avatar on a computer relative to the programmer, is truly nothing – even relative to the player.) There is a Being whose every thought and will; infinitely surpasses the sum total of every single humans (from beginning of time to the end.)
3. You need moments in which direct communion with this Being (as we write in the beginning of Kabbalah-Love – we access through applying Torah (The Divine advice;) Asking a Chassidic Rabbi or Rebbetzin (hence knowing how both Judaism and Jewish mysticism applies to you;) and
c. Even communicating directly (as mysticism teaches, when you ask G-d directly, your first concrete thought after your question is his reply;)
and by taking his advice (not submerging your Being, rather enhancing it) you become like Abraham; as G-d told the first spiritual seeker “Lech-Licha (in order to go to your infinite self – your true Divine potent – you need to be ready to listen.”
And so it is no accident that the Creator of light and potential “convert;” the Creator of wisdom and potentially “wise,” the Creator of goodness and potentially “good,” at this auspicious moment – the last month prior to our complete and total messianic redemption, whereby continuously, as every month is a dance between the moon distancing itself, in order to grow (in fact it shines most when it is furthest) and humbling itself in order to receive, will perpetually endure.
