The only way we can maintain the perfect equilibrium as the Torah teaches us to never take revenge which would necessitate to never get angry (for anger justifies itself and ensures revenge if possible) is to do what the Alter Rebbe teaches in Igerres Hakodesh to recognize that all evil that befalls us comes purely from G-d’s mouth for King David did not get upset at Shimy Ben Geriah who cursed him when he was forced to abandon Jerusalem for David said that God told him to curse David and the Alter Rebbe says “where did God say this” rather every moment a person is living, breathing, doing, this is Godly energy hence if not for God wiling someone to hurt you, whether verbal etc. they could not do it.
