The only way

In truth life is so simple, be nice
But somehow not only does it not work out like this, we find often we are not nice to those who are nicest to us
The reason is simple – there can be two reasons for being nice – the first is that you wish to have a friend, so you are nice, but the reason you are nice is because it is in your interest
However if one thing is in our interest another may be to – for example, when you are angry and we all wish to calm down when we are angry and letting loose helps us do that, apart from the egos general desire to feel superior to others (so why not kill two birds on one stone, coupled with the fact that we seek to not feel pain) the easiest target is in fact nice people (for you don’t fear retaliation.)
However if “be nice” is a moral obligation mandated by God, enshrined in the Torah – something that you may not break, furthermore, if you believe in Divine Destiny (karma) something that will be repeated to you either in this or another lifetime) hence “be nice” suddenly is the overriding, dominant and stronger of your desires
