The only bit of wisdom, psychology, or actually, research on psychology, has contributed to benefit humanity

Since Freud, many are the books, the philosophies about humanity
Freud approached the mind as a doctor
Unfortunately, he knew very little about the ability and mechanism to heal people; though as it takes no genius, he was able to see the problems
When I studied at a Yeshivah in New Haven, a professor from Yale frequented our school, he showed me books he wrote, which proved Freud’s therapeutic techniques healed no one.
In other words, the difference between seeing a problem and knowing the cure, is vast indeed.
In fact, I think it’s a fair assessment, that there isn’t a singly therapeutic technique in the founders of psychology, from Freud to Jung that really heals people.
Fascinating research, but not therapeutic.
However, in modern times, vast amounts of research has been put into analyzing what works.
And here is the simple finding – so simple, yet so misunderstood, or shall we say, so not used.
It matters not at all what you say, you can use Freud’s techniques, Melanie Klein, or the Bugs Bunny Wabbit technique; all people need, as Morrie Shwartz researched and discovered, is unconditional love.
There is a lady who has trained thousands of counselors and she uses empathy as the technique – she says, you don’t need training to have empathy – in fact, having training can adversely affect your perception of another, deluding one into believing their superiority, hence dissociating empathy from their client – so it all boils down to a simple thing, People Need Friends – yes, that means both you and I can be – perhaps the very best- Healers!
