The nature of reality is really like a video game, we are the avatar inside, the challenge is to do more goodness and kindness while remaining humble – in order to do this paradoxical state, for by nature, whatever goodness and kindness we do, it adds to our ego, hence the video game has a technique which is “don’t do what your mind tells you!” which by nature includes your ego’s power (delusion that is) when you succeed; rather “Give up your mind to God’s!” – the way to do this is primarily through asking your Mashpia (Chassidic spiritual mentor) what to do and humbly obeying – this is how all our great saints, Tzaddikim, from Abraham through the Rebbe functioned – though of course as they had a direct line to God, this system worked directly.
