The most bizarre statement in Judaism – and there are many obscure esoteric statements – “good is the angel of life, very good, is the angel of death” – the angel of life, is the Yetzer Tov, the Divine will for goodness to reign; the angel of death is the satan, the opposing force, which wish for human destruction – It is obvious, the great human quandary, is: how can a good God create a bad satan? (in fact, Christianity went so far as to erroneously give satan a sense of rebellion / independence from God; which is much like saying, the Creator of a computer game can’t wipe out one of his insignificant figures.) Rather, though satan may be cruel, he serves an unbelievably valuable function – for if you do make a video game, why challenge the avatar / player? – why not make it, that all he needs to do, is go from level to level? – Well anyone who has ever played a game, knows, that that would be no fun! – We wouldn’t get past two minutes.
